On the request of NGO (non-governmental organisations) and companies in the oil & gas industries, Apave Aeroservices developed in the early 2010s a service called ‘’safety audits’’, consisting in in-house check lists covering the main aviation domains (Airworthiness, Safety Management Systems, Flight Operations, …) and based on regulatory compliance with international aviation standards, especially ICAO’s.
As a recognition of this expertise and the experience gained over the years, TOTAL entrusted Apave Aeroservices with a multi-year services contract aiming at assessing the safety performance of air operators.
Apave Aeroservices has extended its aviation safety audits services to a Risk Based Safety Review (RBSR) which provides an improved identification of the weaknesses of an operator and the corresponding recommended corrective action plan. The tool aims at evaluating risks and provides a ground for the decision making process in the approval or not of an aircraft operator.
The outcome may be a report showing the strengths and weaknesses of the operator as well as possible discrepancies, including an executive summary oriented towards a risk analysis with the objective of maintaining and improving a high level of safety.
