Civil aviation


OSAC Habilitation is authorised by ministerial decree to carry out civil aviation technical control missions. As part of the Authority, OSAC Habilitation issues, oversees, suspends or withdraws approvals for production, maintenance, continuing airworthiness management and maintenance training organisations, aircraft airworthiness documents and aircraft mechanics' licences. OSAC Habilitation acts as part of the competent Authority, on behalf of the Minister for Civil Aviation for activities covered by national regulations and as a subcontractor to the Civil Aviation Safety Directorate, when the latter is acting on behalf of a third party.


Military aviation


OSAC is qualified by the DSAÉ
In a certificate dated 18 June 2019, the DSAÉ recognised OSAC as a qualified entity to carry out technical airworthiness checks on French government aircraft.


OSAC is a qualified entity by the BMAA
Under the terms of the law of 31 July 2020, published in the Moniteur Belge of 10 September 2020, relating to the airworthiness of military aircraft and more specifically with regard to paragraph 9 of article 2 which defines a qualified entity as an organisation which may be entrusted with a specific certification task, OSAC is therefore designated as a qualified entity for the performance of the tasks entrusted to it, including in particular the responsibility for initial instruction and supervision of industrial applicants for or holders of BMAR approvals.


OSAC is a qualified Entity of the UAE Ministry of Defence
Since February 2024, OSAC has been accepted by the United Arab Emirates Military Airworthiness Authority to become its qualified Entity. The initial scope of this qualification covers the certification and airworthiness oversight of military products, as well as the supervision of design organisations in accordance with EMAR 21J.
