VIPARIS Conference Center - Room n°1

The speech will be followed by a Q&A session with the speaker.

Keep and consolidate

decision-making abilities in crisis situations

June 20th, 2023 start at 10h30 - 11h15

VIPARIS Conference Center - Room n°1-

the speech will be followed by a Q&A session with the speaker

Standard tools of crisis management (ERP) do not yet address the impacts of overwhelming feelings that staff, even used to understanding and acting quickly, may be exposed to during crisis situations. Feeling overwhelmed may lead to mistrust behavioral and inhibit decision making abilities. The speech will introduce key principles for auditing the resilience of an organization.

Holding a PhD in business and management, Ivan is a sound expert specialized in safety risk assessment and methodologies as well as in organizational human factors related to Safety. He was previously working 20 years as a scientist for the French UNS-CNRS (National Center for Research) with research projects dedicated to social and human sciences, more especially focused on Safety Management Systems and Safety Performance in cross-cultural context. Ivan is also involved in research and consulting projects in other highly regulated and security/safety exposed business sectors (nuclear, health, finance), therefore providing valuable benchmarks from other industries to the aviation business.

Ivan participated in several research projects with the DGAC - French Civil Aviation Authority, such as the implementation of a Risk Based Oversight doctrine in airworthiness, the evaluation of crews reactions to cyber attacks in order to decide the relevance of a specific training in the crews’ recurrent training, the evaluation of the perception of time pressure on aircraft maintenance programs. He is at the origin of the implementation of the Safety Management System in several aircraft operators since 2012. Ivan is advising the CEOs and Heads of Safety and Compliance of many large and small aircraft operators showing many diverse operational constraints and environments.
